Book Lovers Inc. review
by admin on Jun.22, 2012, under Reviews
Ruined by Rumor received 4.5 stars in a charming and thoughtful review on the Book Lovers Inc. site today. “Despite the humour and wittiness Ruined by Rumor was an angsty Regency romance of the best kind: the type where the reader is constantly biting their nails and having trouble swallowing as they are too anxious to see how the hero and heroine will finally find their way to each other.” The reviewer, Stella, even included a link to my Pinterest board. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing, Stella!

The Historical Romance Critic reviews Ruined by Rumor
by admin on May.30, 2012, under Author news, Reviews
On his review site today, the Historical Romance Critic calls Ruined by Rumor “one of the best historical romances I’ve ever read” and gives it 5+ out of 5 stars. (He even tagged the review “best-damn-book-ever.”) Every writer loves a favorable review, but what makes it particularly rewarding is that the Historical Romance Critic is “a dude.” It’s nice to know there are men out there reading the genre!

Rosalyn Landor voices RbR audible book
by admin on May.21, 2012, under Author news
Not only did Ruined by Rumor come out today (brief pause while I do a happy dance), but I just learned this morning that the audible version is read by actress Rosalyn Landor. She’s a brilliant narrator who has voiced books by Lisa Kleypas, Julia Quinn, Mary Balogh, Sophie Kinsella, P.D. James and a host of other bestselling authors.
I’m practically giddy.
The audible version of Ruined by Rumor is available for purchase here.
Release day!
by admin on May.21, 2012, under Author news
At long last (many of you already know the saga of my first manuscript, A Tryst With Trouble, and how the publisher folded before releasing it) I have a book out! My marriage of convenience regency, Ruined by Rumor, debuts today. Click here to order or learn more.
After waiting five years for her fiancé to return from the war and marry her, Roxana Langley has been jilted! She may have longed for excitement, but this was not what she had in mind…
Who could possibly throw over a woman as beautiful and vivacious as Roxana? Certainly not Alex Winslow, the Earl of Ayersley, who has spent years trying in vain to forget his unrequited love. When he learns she’s been abandoned by her cad of a fiancé, he finds himself offering a shoulder for her to cry on. Comfort soon turns into a passionate kiss—and scandal when they are caught in an embrace.
Only one thing will save Roxana from certain ruination: marriage to the earl. The match may save her reputation, but responsible, tongue-tied Ayersley is a far cry from her dashing former fiancé. She’s convinced Ayersley is merely doing his duty…while he’s sure Roxana is still in love with another man. Are they trading one disaster for another?

Heroes and Heartbreakers review
by admin on May.16, 2012, under Reviews
Author Victoria Janssen (Moonlight Mistress, The Duke and the Pirate Queen) gave Ruined by Rumor a lovely review at the Heroes and Heartbreakers blog. “Everett’s lighthearted dialogue was again a feature, as was the old-school Regency romance plot, but what I really loved was her hero.” Click here to read the full review.
Thanks, Victoria and Heroes and Heartbreakers!
Why I love librarians
by admin on May.03, 2012, under Reviews
Just when I badly needed something to turn my day around [insert woeful personal tale of incontinent spaniel recovering from liver surgery], LibraryJournal gave Ruined by Rumor a review that did it: “…an ideal read for historical and Regency romance lovers. Wonderfully human characters, appropriate dialog, and thorough world-building mark Everett as an author to keep on a list of must-reads.” Did I mention that I love librarians? In this case, the reviewer is even from my neck of the woods.

Though my debut release has been postponed until the spring, I’ve received two pieces of good news about A TRYST WITH TROUBLE. First, it’s up on NetGalley for romance bloggers, librarians, and other book reviewers to preview.
Second, I got my first ever review! Click here to read it.
I hope you get nothing but good news this Christmas (or whatever holidays you celebrate at this time of year).
